2,096 m a.s.l. · Western Tatras
An apartment looking out at Ciemniak. Opening in spring 2027.
The seventh building in the settlement looks towards the Western Tatras. Its four apartments are named after the peaks you see from their windows. We will share the details once the building is ready.
Peak: Ciemniak Apartment
Ciemniak (2,096 m) closes the Red Peaks from the west. At its summit the ridge turns at a right angle, and its name probably comes from Mułowa Valley, which shepherds used to call the Dark Valley. In the 19th century iron ore was mined on its slopes and it was known as the Upłaz Red Peak. Caves hide in the limestone below the summit, Miętusia and Wysoka among them, and rare alpine plants grow in its grass. In July the rush stems on Twardy Grzbiet start to brown, and Ciemniak is the first of the four peaks to turn red.
