Lodowy House
2,627 m a.s.l. · High Tatras
120 m² · 4 bedrooms · 3 bathrooms + WC · living room upstairs · up to 10 guests
A house that looks out at Ľadový štít.
The living room is upstairs, higher up and closer to the mountains. A long table, a fireplace, and a view that reaches further from up here. Three bedrooms are on the ground floor, quiet and cool for sleeping, and the fourth is upstairs, next to the living room, with its own private bathroom.
Peak: Lodowy House
Ľadový štít, the Ice Peak (2,627 m), is the third highest in the Tatras and in the entire Carpathians, right after Gerlach and Lomnica. It takes its name from the Ice Valley, and Hungarians still call it Ice Valley Peak. The first confirmed ascent was in 1843, with John Ball, a naturalist who some fifteen years later became the first president of the Alpine Club in London. One route crosses the Ice Horse, a ridge so narrow that climbers sit astride it as if in a saddle. From your windows it looks calm and white, especially in February.
